Gloster began in 1945 when Jim Grant returned back to Australia from fighting in the Second Word War. He named the brand after the Gloster Meteor, which became the RAF's first operational jet aircraft in March 1943. His vision was to create the ultimate shirt for the Australian man.

Over the following years Gloster became an iconic everyday shirt for the man on the land who needed clothing that could withstand their tough working environment and harsh weather conditions. From there this casual styling was embraced by those in the coastal cities to make it a truly national brand.

Gloster has had many imitators over the years but there is only one true classic shirt that has been around for over 75 years. We are proud to say that today our fabric quality is the best it has ever been and our consumer loyalty has never been stronger.
